EPDM UL 94 V-0 Sheeting for Fire-Safe Applications

by Jonny Paulton | 29th January, 2025

Where fire safety is a critical requirement of any sealing or protective packing application, having a rubber material which meets stringent requirements to provide this is a necessity.

Our flame-retardant EPDM sheeting has been tested to UL 94 V-0 standards to reduce the spread of fire and to produce lower smoke density and toxicity.

UL 94 is a material flammability standard from Underwriters Laboratories in the US, which is used to determine whether the material will extinguish or if it will spread flame, upon ignition. The V-0 classification deems that, in the test environment, burning will cease within 10 seconds of the controlled flame being applied to a vertical sample, allowing for droplets of material that are not alight.

This sheeting is ideal for producing fire-rated sealing gaskets in train doors and passenger compartment floor coverings, seals for electrical enclosures and production lines, or flame barriers in a host of construction, aerospace, and automotive applications. It can also be used for wrapping flammable materials to be transported.

We can supply this sheeting in 0.5mm, 1mm, 2mm, 3mm, and 6mm thicknesses from stock, with other thicknesses also available upon request, subject to potential minimum order quantities. As well as supplying full rolls or cut lengths and strips, we can also produce CNC or waterjet cut seals and gaskets.

For European railway applications, we also supply EPDM sheeting conforming to EN 45545-2 HL3. Contact us for more information and pricing on this or our UL 94 V-0 rubber sheeting today.
