Product Description

The technique of scarf joining and vulcanisation enables the creation of O-rings in a wide range of sizes, all without requiring specialised tooling. Beyond the elimination of tooling expenses, there are additional benefits associated with scarf joined and vulcanised rings, namely the absence of any excess material on the ring’s surface.

Critical to the excellence of this product is the specific cord employed in crafting the rings. The cords utilised in our scarf joined and vulcanised rings are manufactured through laser-controlled extrusion lines. This manufacturing process ensures that cross sections up to 6.35mm adhere to the DIN7715 E1 standard, and for dimensions surpassing this, they conform to E2 tolerances.

The method employed to rejoin the rings holds significant importance. Rigorous quality control procedures ensure that the resulting joint is frequently at least 90% as robust as the cord itself.

Important Information

Typically, the lead times are faster compared to commencing from scratch with a moulded O-ring, and there are no upper boundaries on the inner diameter (ID).

Vulcanised O-rings are conveniently accessible across a range of cross sections, spanning from 1.78mm to 25.4mm, and upon request, even larger cross sections can be obtained.
