Product Description
Premium Anti-Slip Decking for Safer Outdoor Spaces
SafaWood anti-slip decking boards combine the natural beauty of timber with advanced slip-resistant technology to create a safe, durable and visually appealing decking solution. Manufactured from pressure-treated softwood and high-quality EPDM rubber inserts, these non-slip decking boards are designed to deliver reliable traction in both wet and dry conditions. Ideal for residential and commercial environments, SafaWood offers a practical way to enhance outdoor areas while reducing the risk of slips and falls.
Durable Timber with Integrated EPDM Grip Technology
Each SafaWood board features bonded EPDM rubber granules embedded within the timber surface. This innovative combination provides superior grip compared to standard wooden decking, maintaining performance even in cold, damp or high-traffic environments. The pressure-treated timber base offers long-term resistance to rot, fungal decay and weather damage, ensuring your anti-slip decking remains effective and attractive for years.
Designed for Safety in All Weather Conditions
Unlike traditional timber decking, SafaWood anti-slip deck boards are engineered to maintain traction throughout the seasons. The EPDM rubber surface performs consistently in wet weather and sub-zero temperatures, providing dependable grip when it matters most. The rubber inserts also offer a slightly softer surface underfoot, improving comfort and helping absorb impact should slips occur. SafaWood is independently tested to BS 7976 Part 2 and rated as having a low potential for slip.
Attractive Colours and Flexible Options
SafaWood decking boards are supplied in charcoal/red as standard, with additional colour options available as special order. The vibrant EPDM inserts create a modern, decorative finish while enhancing visibility and safety. Multiple board lengths are available, allowing you to choose the most efficient solution for your decking layout and minimise waste.
Colour Options

Please note: there is a minimum order quantity of 50m² for our non-standard colours
Long-Lasting and Low Maintenance
Designed for durability and ease of ownership, SafaWood anti-slip decking requires minimal maintenance compared to traditional timber decking. The pressure-treated wood resists decay, while the EPDM inserts retain their grip without additional coatings. SafaWood is PEFC certified and supplied with a 15-year guarantee against rot and fungal decay, subject to correct installation and treatment of cut ends.
Installation Guidance
For best results, SafaWood decking boards should be face-fixed using two 63mm coated decking screws at each joist. Screws should be driven below the rubber surface to conceal fixings and maximise hold. Joists should be spaced at a maximum of 450mm centres, and any cut ends must be treated with a suitable timber preservative. Incorporating a slight fall in the decking design will help improve drainage and long-term performance.
