Product Description

Our flame retardant thermal and acoustic foam is a high quality as well as highly versatile material. The material features an open cellular structure, which serves to aid in acoustic and thermal absorption. We produce the foam from melamine resin, a thermoset of the aminoplastics group. This combines the excellent insulation properties of an open cell material with the excellent fire performance of melamine resin. Our foam is also incredibly lightweight compared to similar materials. You can easily suspend our foam from both walls and ceilings due to the low weight nature of the material. The absence of fibres in this material also helps to create a safer working or living environment.

The high sound absorption of our foam ensures that it is ideal for use as sound insulation in buildings. It provides a cost effective solution to reduce excess sound in areas with a high level of noise. Customer commonly use the material in cinemas, office buildings, hotels, schools and gyms. However, the potential uses with our flame retardant thermal and acoustic foam is endless. The low rigidity of of this material enables you to use it in conjunction with heavier materials.

Due to a high operating temperature and a Class 0 Fire Retardancy our foam is perfect for use in thermal applications. We are able to convert the material into complex gaskets and shapes in order to suit your specific requirements. The flexibility of an open cellular structure enables our foam to better insulate against curves and uneven surfaces.

Material Conversion Possibilities

Here at The Rubber Company we can utilise a variety of sponge rubber conversion tools and techniques. This enables us to cut, shape, drill, join and laminate our materials to match your exact requirements. Rubber sponge materials are manufactured in large blocks, so it is necessary to convert these blocks into usable end products. Our dedicated team can work directly with you every step of the way. This ensures that we use the best methods in order to achieve your desired shape and finish.
