The Rubber Company is constantly striving to reduce energy consumption and waste in all areas of operation.
Energy efficient LED lighting systems are utilised and all staff are encouraged to adopt eco-friendly, energy saving practices, e.g. switching off lights, electrical equipment and machinery when not in use.
Electronic forms of communication are used as a preferred option and documents printing avoided unless essential. Scanning and electronic storage of paper documents received is increasingly in practice. We promote electronic communication with customers and supply chain companies.
Wastage of all materials is minimised wherever possible in all production processes.
Liquid refreshments for staff consumption are provided by a company committed to reusing plastics and disposable single use cups are banned.
The Rubber Company reuses packaging whenever possible, received from all sources, including wooden pallets, cardboard, plastic and paper.
Materials are recycled with a local waste management company. This includes paper, cardboard, glass, electronics and raw materials.
All vehicles used for company business adhere to the manufacturers servicing and testing guidelines in order to keep emissions as low as reasonably possible. Business journeys are planned for maximum efficiency and economy. Personnel car share when possible and cycle commutes are encouraged to promote health and the environment.
All chemical waste is disposed of in line with current government legislation.
The Rubber Company will select suppliers and products wherever possible if there is an environmental benefit e.g. companies with effective environmental policies and products which make use of recycled materials.
