Product Description
Conformable Anti-Slip Safety Grip Tape is purpose-engineered to provide reliable slip resistance on textured metal surfaces where conventional anti-slip tapes fail. Common flooring materials such as durbar plate, chequer plate and diamond tread are widely used on fire exits, walkways, access platforms and stair treads. Despite common belief, these metal surfaces are extremely slippery, particularly when wet, oily or worn.
The raised pattern of durbar and chequer plate actually reduces the contact area available for footwear, increasing slip risk rather than preventing it. Many health and safety authorities highlight the dangers of using bare metal tread in critical pedestrian areas.
This conformable anti-slip tape solves that problem. Unlike standard plastic-backed grip tapes, which stretch and attempt to return to their original shape, the Class O aluminium foil backing has zero stretch and no memory. Once pressed into the valleys and contours of irregular metal, it stays there permanently. This prevents lifting, bubbling and premature failure, delivering a long-lasting non-slip solution where traditional tapes cannot adhere.
An additional advantage of the aluminium foil construction is its excellent flame retardancy. Conformable Safety Grip Tape has been tested and certified to CAA FAA Specification 8 for use in cockpit environments, demonstrating its suitability for high-risk and safety-critical applications.
Sizes & Tape Thickness
Standard stock sizes include 25mm, 50mm, 75mm, 100mm and 150mm width rolls, all supplied in 18.3 metre lengths. Widths range from 19mm up to 1168mm are available on request. Conformable Anti-Slip Safety Grip Tape has a total applied thickness of 1.12mm, combining durability with exceptional flexibility. The malleable foil backing ensures a strong, secure bond that closely follows complex surface profiles such as checker plate and diamond tread. This thicker construction delivers high traction and long service life without compromising its ability to conform tightly to uneven substrates.
Application & Temperature Performance
For optimal adhesion, Conformable Anti-Slip Safety Grip Tape should be applied at temperatures of 10°C or above. Once installed, it performs reliably across a wide service temperature range of -40°C to +160°C, ensuring consistent grip in demanding environmental conditions.
