Product Description
RubbaPour® wet pour materials provide a high-quality, seamless safety surface ideal for playgrounds, recreational spaces, and landscaping projects. Our range includes SBR base layer granules, EPDM top layer granules, and a premium binder – everything you need to achieve a professional and durable finish.
Using our detailed installation guide, almost anyone can install a wet pour surface. We regularly supply materials for projects of all sizes, working closely with landscaping professionals and private customers alike. Our experienced team can calculate the exact quantities required to cover any area, including installations with different thicknesses or multiple colours.
RubbaPour® wet pour is designed to create a seamless safety surface that meets specific Critical Fall Height (CFH) requirements. With a wide selection of EPDM colours available, it also allows you to design creative and complex patterns to suit your project. The combination of safety, durability, and visual appeal makes RubbaPour® the perfect choice for both practical and decorative surfacing.
The Two-Layer System
RubbaPour® wet pour surfaces are made up of two distinct layers, each playing an essential role in the system’s performance and safety.

Top Layer
The top layer is made from premium EPDM granules that create a smooth, professional finish. These fine granules are available in a wide range of colours, allowing for custom designs and creative layouts. EPDM also offers excellent UV and weather resistance, ensuring the surface maintains its vibrant appearance for years to come.
Base Layer
Beneath this lies the base layer, manufactured from 100% recycled SBR (Styrene Butadiene Rubber) rubber crumb. This layer provides the majority of the surface’s impact absorption, helping to meet the required Critical Fall Height standards. The thickness of the base layer can be adjusted to increase the level of shock absorption, depending on the intended use and the height of any play equipment installed above it.
Sub-Base Requirements
It is important to note that while you can install wet pour on a variety of different surfaces you need to have the correct sub base. The most common sub base being a compacted MOT type 1 stone base. Other solid porous surfaces such as textured macadam or concrete are also suitable.
Critical Fall Height Information

From the graph you can see that increasing the base thickness provides superior protection against larger heights. When calculating the Critical Fall Height you require, we suggest only increasing the thickness of the base layer. This ensures that the visible, higher quality top layer is able to maintain a consistent depth of 15mm or 20mm. This can greatly reduce cost, without affecting the performance of the surface.
To ensure the correct surface build-up, our team can calculate the appropriate material thickness based on the maximum height of any play structures and the type of sub-base being used.
