Product Description
Our open cell EPDM sponge is a versatile, high-performance sealing material used across many industrial applications. It delivers the durability, weather resistance, and UV/ozone stability you’d expect from closed cell EPDM, but with the added flexibility and excellent compression recovery of an open cell structure – ideal for sealing, cushioning, and gasketing uneven or irregular surfaces. Produced at a standard density of 65 kg/m³ and offered in thicknesses from 1 mm to 40 mm, this material is available as full rolls, sponge sheets, strip-cut lengths, sealing strips, or custom-made gaskets, with optional laminations or adhesive backing for easier installation.
Its unique semi-closed cell structure provides the softness of an open-cell material while still achieving an air and watertight seal at 80% compression, making it suitable for demanding and high-pressure sealing environments. It is also widely used as a replacement seal for vacuum lifters, vacuum pads, and grippers, where worn seals reduce lifting performance; we supply precisely cut vacuum lifting seals in a range of opening patterns and thicknesses to match your equipment.
