Product Description
Our flame retardant neoprene sponge is an excellent closed-cell, general-purpose material. Aside from offering good weathering and physical resistance it also provides fire, oil and chemical resistance. This makes the material perfectly suited for use in a variety of applications where a risk of fire is present.
We supply this particular material in a selection of densities from 130 to 170 kg/m3 as well as thicknesses ranging from 1mm to 40mm as standard. We can also produce this material in a variety of formats such as; full rolls, sheets, strip cut lengths and bespoke gaskets. If required the material can be supplied with adhesive backing or laminated.
As a closed-cell material our flame retardant neoprene sponge can form an air and watertight seal using minimal pressure. It also provides superior thermal and acoustic insulation when compared to an open-cell material. It is important to note however, that over compression of the material can break the cellular structure of the material. This will significantly reduce the sealing capabilities of the material. We always suggest comparing the compression data of the material with the pressure rating of the application you are planning to use it in.

Material Conversion Possibilities
Here at The Rubber Company we can utilise a variety of sponge rubber conversion tools and techniques. This enables us to cut, shape, drill, join and laminate our materials to match your exact requirements. Rubber sponge materials are manufactured in large blocks, so it is necessary to convert these blocks into usable end products. Our dedicated team can work directly with you every step of the way. This ensures that we use the best methods in order to achieve your desired shape and finish.
