Product Description
We manufacture our polyethylene foam gaskets from a high quality, cross-linked, closed cell material. These gaskets are suitable for use in a number of standard and everyday use applications. Aside from standard polyethylene, we can also supply Plastazote® and Evazote® grades. We can also produce our polyethylene gaskets in a wide variety of thicknesses and densities to suit your specific requirements.
A key feature of polyethylene foam gaskets is the materials excellent chemical resistance. Polyethylene generally exhibits good resistance against: Acetatic acid, Amonium hydroxide, Calcium hydroxide, Diethylene glycol, Ethylene glycol, Ethanol, Glycerin, Glycol, Hydrogen peroxide, Mercury, Methanol, Potassium hydroxide and Sodium hydroxide. This ensures that our polyethylene gaskets are highly stable even in the most abrasive of environments.
As a closed cell material, our polyethylene foam gaskets are naturally water repellent. This increases the buoyancy of the material as well as ensuring the gaskets are impervious to mildew and bacteria. Polyethylene gaskets also provide good resistance against weather and UV deterioration. This enables you to use these gaskets in a number of exterior sealing applications.
Plastazote® & Evazote® Gaskets
What material is right for you?
Plastazote® and Evazote® gaskets are manufactured using a unique, nitrogen expansion process. This results in a gaskets with higher purity, consistent densities as well as a controlled cell size. The unique manufacturing process also enables the gaskets to be enhanced with superior flame retardant or high temperature resistance. We have included a brief description below, detailing the key differences between each material.
Plastazote®
Plastazote® gaskets generally feature good mechanical properties such as: impact absorption, compression recovery, high strength and durability. It also provides excellent resistance to most oils, solvents, acids and alkalis. This combination of properties enable you to use Plastazote® gaskets in a number of automotive as well as construction applications. Plastazote® is also lightweight and free from any chemical agents which make it popular in both the science and medial industries.
Evazote®
Evazote® gaskets offer superior softness, durability as well as resilience on average compared to Plastazote®. It is able to regularly absorb a wide variety of impacts and pressure without warping or deteriorating. Evazote® also offers increased resistance to a number of abrasive chemicals. This enables you to use it in a variety of harsh and intense environments.
