Product Description
Our silicone sponge sheets are engineered for demanding applications that require a soft, flexible, and easily pliable rubber material with superior sealing performance. Manufactured with a closed-cell structure and finished with a smooth outer skin on both sides, these sheets deliver exceptionally low water absorption, making them ideal for gasketing, sealing, thermal insulation, and environmental protection. The closed-cell silicone construction provides excellent resistance to moisture ingress and enables assemblies to achieve protection ratings of up to IP67, ensuring long-term reliability in harsh operating conditions.
Designed for high-performance environments, our silicone sponge rubber sheets operate across a wide temperature range from –60°C to +230°C, with intermittent exposure up to +250°C, making them suitable for aerospace, automotive, industrial, and electrical applications. The material also complies with stringent flammability standards, meeting FAR 25 / JAR 25 / CS 25 Appendix F, Part 1 horizontal flammability requirements, supporting use in safety-critical installations. Standard supply is 1m x 1m sheets in thicknesses from 5mm to 30mm, with rolls up to 10 m available on request, offering flexibility for both prototype and production requirements.
The Rubber Company can supply silicone sponge sheets in four standard densities to suit a wide range of compression and sealing requirements:
• P10 – Soft: Ideal for low-load applications and light sealing requirements
• P16 – Medium: Suitable for general-purpose sealing and insulation
• P24 – Firm: Designed for applications requiring higher compression resistance
• P33 – Extra Firm: Recommended for demanding environments requiring maximum strength and durability
