Product Description
Our flame retardant neoprene sponge is tested and certified to European standards EN 45545-2, making it ideal for use in the rail industry. Aside from offering good weathering and physical resistance it also provides fire, oil and chemical resistance. This makes the material perfectly suited for use in a variety of applications where a risk of fire is present.
We supply this particular material in a density of 160 kg/m3 to customers required thickness. We can also produce this material in a variety of formats such as; full rolls, sheets, strip cut lengths and bespoke gaskets. If required the material can be supplied with adhesive backing or laminated.
As a closed-cell material our flame retardant neoprene sponge can form an air and watertight seal using minimal pressure. It also provides superior thermal and acoustic insulation when compared to an open-cell material. It is important to note however, that over compression of the material can break the cellular structure of the material. This will significantly reduce the sealing capabilities of the material. We always suggest comparing the compression data of the material with the pressure rating of the application you are planning to use it in.
