Product Description

Neoprene is a very popular gasket material due to the combination of physical properties and resistance the material offers. Not only does neoprene provide great weathering, ozone and fuel resistance it also features combustion resistance across many different grades. This unique combination of properties ensure that our neoprene rubber gaskets are suitable for use in almost all applications or working environments.

Aside from offering superb resistance, neoprene rubber gaskets also feature excellent durability for use in hard wearing applications. Neoprene is elastic and form-fitting, which enables us to manufacture it in a variety of complex shapes and sizes. It is also resistant to deterioration caused from twisting and flexing. The flexibility of the material makes it an excellent shock absorbing and cushioning material. Neoprene is also impermeable, which means it can be used as a barrier to in order to prevent liquids and gases from escaping.

Neoprene rubber gaskets are highly versatile and can provide an effecting sealing solution in a number of applications. They are regularly used in industrial applications to absorb shock as well as protect against the ingress of water and dust. The weathering resistance the material offers also enables neoprene gaskets to be used in exterior sealing applications. The flame retardant properties of neoprene make it the first choice for use in automotive, aviation and aerospace applications.

Material Grades

We can supply our neoprene rubber gaskets in a variety of different material grades and compounds to suit your specific application or working environment. We have included a list below of some of our most popular neoprene grades. It contains brief information describing the differences as well as potential uses for each compound. Don’t hesitate to get in contact with us if you are unsure what grade to use. Our informative staff are on hand in order to ensure that you get the best material possible to suit your unique requirements.

High Grade Insertion

Our high grade neoprene insertion material utilises 150gsm nylon cloth in order to enhance the physical properties of the material. The cloth insertion provides the material with superior anti-flex, anti-creep and stretching resistance properties. This enables the gaskets to be used in high wear applications without fear of deterioration.

Food Contact Grade

Our food contact grade of neoprene gaskets have been manufactured to fully confirm to FDA standards for use in food contact applications. It also ensures that the material is tasteless as well as odourless to preserve the quality of the food or beverage.
This material also provides superior water resistance and can help to prevent the build up of mould.

Flame Retardant Grade

Our flame retardant neoprene grade is manufactured in order to fully conform to NFF16-101 M2-F3 and UL94-VO standards. This material can greatly help to reduce the spread of flame as well as reducing the smoke density and toxicity. We typically supply these gaskets for use in marine, automotive, aviation and aerospace applications.

Economy/Commercial Grade

Despite being a less durable and less resistant material, our economy and commercial neoprene grades are still suitable for use in a number of applications. We supply this material as a lower cost alternative to our standard and high grade neoprene compounds. We would typically supply this material for use in low pressure and low wear applications.

BS2752 Grade

As the name suggests, this particular grade is manufactured to conform to British Standard 2752. This standard is widely recognised in both industrial and construction industries. We can supply this material in a wide range of shore hardness’s from 40° to 80°. We usually suggest this material for use in high abrasion construction applications.

Anti-static Grade

Our anti-static neoprene is a high grade material that also conforms to BS490 and ISO340 specifications for use as a flame retardant material. The combination of anti-static and flame retardant properties creates a material that is incredibly stable. These gaskets are suitable for use in a number of transportation industries.
