Product Description

Our drinking water gaskets provide a reliable sealing solution for potable water supply systems, pipework, valves and water treatment equipment. Manufactured from specially formulated rubber compounds, these gaskets are designed for applications where material safety, sealing performance and water quality are essential.

We supply potable water rubber gaskets in a range of materials, including EPDM, neoprene, silicone and nitrile rubber. Selected grades are available with WRAS approval or supporting BS 6920 test documentation, helping customers meet relevant UK water supply requirements.

Our precision cutting and fabrication capabilities enable us to manufacture bespoke drinking water gaskets in a variety of shapes, sizes and thicknesses, including flange gaskets, sealing rings and custom-cut profiles.

Material selection should consider water temperature, disinfectant exposure, operating pressure and the specific approval conditions for the selected compound.

Drinking Water Gasket Materials

We manufacture drinking water gaskets from selected rubber compounds suitable for potable water applications. The correct material depends on water quality, temperature, disinfectant exposure and sealing requirements.

EPDM Rubber

EPDM is widely used for potable water sealing applications due to its excellent resistance to water, ozone, weathering and ageing. Selected WRAS-approved grades are available for hot and cold drinking water systems.

Neoprene Rubber

Neoprene provides good flexibility and general-purpose sealing performance. Specialist grades may be suitable for drinking water applications where supported by appropriate water-contact approval or test documentation.

Silicone Rubber

Silicone offers excellent flexibility and a wide operating temperature range, making suitable grades useful for hot water equipment, appliances and specialist potable water seals.

Nitrile Rubber (NBR)

Nitrile provides good resistance to oils and greases and may be used in selected water treatment and plumbing applications. Potable water suitability must be confirmed for the specific compound.

Bespoke Drinking Water Gasket Manufacturing

We manufacture bespoke drinking water gaskets for pipework, water treatment equipment, valves and potable water systems. Using precision cutting and fabrication techniques, we can produce flange gaskets, sealing rings, washers and complex cut profiles in a range of materials and thicknesses.

Contact our team with your dimensions, technical drawing or existing gasket sample, together with details of the operating temperature, water treatment chemicals and required approvals. We can help identify a suitable material for your application.

WRAS Approval & Material Compliance

WRAS approval is widely recognised within the UK water industry as evidence that a material or product meets applicable water fittings requirements.

Selected rubber compounds are available with WRAS approval or supporting BS 6920 test documentation for contact with drinking water. Approval conditions can vary according to the material grade, thickness, temperature and intended application.

WRAS approval of a material does not automatically mean that every finished gasket manufactured from it is independently WRAS-approved. The relevant documentation and approval scope should be confirmed before specification.

For applications requiring sheet material rather than finished gaskets, we also supply WRAS-approved drinking water rubber sheeting in selected grades suitable for potable water contact.

FAQs

What is the best rubber material for drinking water gaskets?

EPDM is commonly used for potable water applications due to its resistance to water, weathering and ageing. However, the best material depends on temperature, disinfectant exposure and the required approval conditions.

Are all drinking water gaskets WRAS approved?

No. WRAS approval applies to specific products or materials within defined conditions. We can offer selected grades with appropriate approval or supporting test documentation, subject to availability and application requirements.

Can drinking water gaskets be manufactured to custom sizes?

Yes. We can manufacture bespoke potable water gaskets in a range of shapes, sizes and thicknesses, precision cut to technical drawings, CAD files or existing samples.
